Boixadós Obtains the Official Carbon Footprint Seal from the Ministry for Ecological Transition

At Boixadós, we continue to move forward in our commitment to sustainability and continuous improvement. We are therefore pleased to announce that we have obtained the official seal from the Carbon Footprint Registry of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge.

This recognition certifies that we have calculated and officially registered our carbon footprint for the year 2025 within the national registry, an important step in our ongoing efforts to reduce our environmental impact.

What Does This Seal Certify?

The seal awarded to Boixadós corresponds to the “CALCULATION” category, which certifies that the company has measured and reported its greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the criteria established by the Ministry.

Specifically, the calculation includes the so-called Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions:

  • Scope 1: Direct emissions generated by the company’s activities, such as fuels used in facilities or production processes.
  • Scope 2: Indirect emissions associated with the consumption of purchased electricity required for plant operations.

This registration certifies that greenhouse gas emissions have been officially calculated and recorded, providing the foundation for establishing future reduction targets.

Another Step Forward in Our Environmental Commitment

Although Boixadós has officially registered the carbon footprint calculation for Scopes 1 and 2, a complete calculation has also been carried out for Scope 3, in accordance with the requirements of ISO 14064 and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol).

Having completed this assessment and registered the results strengthens Boixadós’ transparency and credibility among customers, suppliers, and business partners. More and more sectors—particularly those related to food, cosmetics, and manufacturing—value suppliers that can provide reliable and verifiable environmental indicators.

This recognition reinforces our ongoing commitment to quality, safety, and the continuous improvement of our production processes, aligning our operations with current market demands and European sustainability objectives.

A Tool for Continuous Improvement

The 2025 carbon footprint calculation provides us with a benchmark from which to measure our progress in the coming years. Based on this foundation, we will be able to evaluate the effectiveness of the actions implemented and continue advancing towards the gradual reduction of emissions associated with our activities.

Sustainability is an ongoing process that requires data, monitoring, and commitment. For this reason, this registration represents a key management tool that will help us continue progressing towards a more efficient and responsible industrial operation.

Metal Packaging and Sustainability

Metal packaging offers significant sustainability advantages thanks to its high recyclability, durability, and ability to protect products. Based on the studies and calculations carried out, we can affirm that we not only manufacture highly recyclable packaging, but also rigorously measure the environmental impact of our production activities.
